PCA Course
ELEMENTARY
STUDENT IN K-5
- Full time kindergarten through 5th grade students take courses through Accelerate Education and are called BUZZ courses. The courses are aligned to PA standards and developmentally appropriate.
- PCA teachers facilitate the courses, monitor student progress and achievement, provide thorough feedback, and deliver interventions when needed. Teachers are in close contact with students.
- Parents have an important role within PCA and serve as the “Learning Coach”. Read the Learning Coach Guides for specific information. Course Guides for core subject areas are also provided.

- A basic elementary supply kit will be provided to each student. Please note, many of the other required materials can be found around your house. If you do not have the required materials, your child’s teacher will provide an alternate activity.
- The following lists are organized by grade level and module for each course. It is suggested that a Learning Coach prepare materials by module so that the student has everything readily available as they go through each module. Your student's teacher will share how to access independent reading materials.

SECONDARY
STUDENT IN 6-12
- Full time 6th-12th grade students take courses through Edgenuity. The courses are aligned to PA standards and developmentally appropriate.
- PCA teachers facilitate the courses, monitor student progress and achievement, provide thorough feedback, and deliver interventions when needed.
- Teachers are in close contact with students. Each student will be assigned a mentor teacher that will help the student reach success. Students should expect to spend 45-60 minutes per subject each day.
