MES Students in K-2 worked on applying programming skills to robotic friends

MES Students in K-2 worked on applying programming skills to robotic friends. K and 1st grades programmed Colby Jack, our robotic mouse, through a series of mazes that were both teacher created and student created. We incorporated shape, number, letter, and snap word identification into the mazes. 2nd graders programmed Botley, our friendly robot, through multi-function mazes. They needed to program him to overcome obstacles and carry a ball through a course to a meet a goal. Finally, 2nd grade engineered parts onto Botley to enable him to push or pull weight across the maze.
