What is Bullying? "Bullying is when someone repeatedly and on purpose says or does mean or hurtful things to another person who has a hard time defending himself or herself." Bullying is everyone's problem. Bullying is one of the most difficult issues that schools, students, and parents face. Bullying today is more extreme, more humiliating and more public than in previous generations. Its consequences are huge: student learning is compromised, absenteeism increases, teacher moral is lowered, and families find themselves in conflict. Victims, bullies and bystanders may suffer physical and emotional wounds that persist into adulthood. In extreme cases bullying can end in death through suicide or violence as in the case of school shootings. Taking a stand against bullying is everyone's responsibility. PENNCREST School District takes this responsibility seriously. At PENNCREST School District, we Stand against bullying. "Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home - so close they cannot be seen on any map of the world: - the neighborhood, the school, the factory, the farm, the office...Places where every man, woman and child seeks equal justice, opportunity and dignity without discrimination.
